I watched a short (19 minutes) clip on Youtube last Monday, with Michael Specter speaking about, well, the dangers of science denial (on TED).
It was a really inspirational speech on the subject, with real-world examples on how ignoring science leads to people dying and the world becoming a worse place.
At the time I was incredibly busy with work and didn't have time to post about it, but luckily for me the video has been featured on Science-Based Medicine and the Bad Astronomy blog, so I don't have to write anything other than I agree with them :)
