The rescue of the Chilean miners

As you all probably know the 33 miners trapped inside the San Jose mine in Chile is being rescued right now. As of this writing 22 have been rescued.
I'm not going to post a lot about it I'm sure you've seen the news, but just direct your attention to yet another amazing The Big Picture series of pictures. This one is called Rescued from a Chilean mine and has a lot of awesome pictures from the beginning of the rescue.

The Big Picture is part of the Boston Globe and the regularly feature these amazing series of pictures of various events around the world.

Another important element of this rescue is the people who actually performed the rescue, the heroes in this story. Don't just call this a miracle and give credit to whatever god you believe in, remember the many people who worked hard trying to create a rescue solution to save the trapped miners.
Such as this guy who was in charge of drilling the 622 meter hole through which the miners were rescued.

Or the entire rescue team and the engineers who created, tested and operated the capsule.

Thank them for their hard work and their dedication to this cause. Or the thousands of people involved in this, the families staying in tents around the site for months or anyone who else contributed to this rescue.

That's about it. If you want to see the rescue live you can see it here on the BBC or if you are Danish here on DR.
